Deadline day approaching.................

Just over a week til I set off!!!!!! I'm taking part in the second trek, the first group having just returned. They said the challenge was really tough and a lot harder than expected. The monsoon season stayed around a little longer than normal so they got a soaking everyday!!! Worst bit though sounds the "LEECHES" which were described "quite a problem". Oh well, in for a penny in for a pound as they say. Been doing lots of walking and running so feel pretty fit. Having said that getting a little nervous about leeches!!!!

Car Boot Sale!!!!!!!

Feeling a little bit tired today as yesterday I got up at around 5.30am to do a car boot sale!!!! Sold most of the items and raised £98.70 to add the total. I had some help from my sister and we had loads of messages of support so thankyou to everyone who bought something!!!!
And in case you are wondering how the training is going.......................well then..............I've been doing some really long walks up and down some rather steep hills at the weekend and a couple of times during the week I'm going to the gym.

I've just been down to Cornwall for a couple of days and stayed at a B & B where I met Phyllis who has taken part in treks to Peru, Iceland, Cambodia and China. Presentation Night at The Standard Tandoori & Balti Restaurant

Thank you to everyone who came along on Tuesday 20th May to my Presentation. Although I was a little nervous I hope everyone enjoyed the presentation and found it interesting.

A big Thank You goes to Mo for helping to organise the evening and I'd also like to thank Mike for donating his time (and his balloons!!!) and to thank the Chefs and the Staff at The Standard for their support. The food was excellent and people were very generous - on the night just over £130. was collected so again I'd like to thank everyone for their support. A thankyou goes to Laura, Mr. & Mrs.East and Janet J. too for sponsoring me as well.

Last nights efforts have taken the amount raised so far to over £2,000.!!!!!

Jane at Tesco Sowerby Bridge kindly allowed me to arrange a collection at their entrance. So yesterday from 9.30am to 6.30pm I spent the day rattling a collection bucket with my sister Nancy and Nazma who works with us. We had a great day and collected a whopping £800.81!!! It was a really long day but the messages of support we received kept us going. So a real Big Thankyou goes to Tesco, the residents of Sowerby Bridge for their generosity and to Nancy and Nazma for all their help too. And for those who are wondering what £800.81 looks like - here is a picture!!!!!!
